Landscape Design
DRT Landscape Design offers residential landscape master plans (full property), front yard and backyard plans, as well as planting bed plans.
Functional spaces are designed and features like decks, patios, fire pits and any other structural elements are incorporated into the plans.
The Design Process – Landscapes are designed to meet the client’s vision and needs, creating spaces where you can interact with and enjoy the outdoors. Below you will find the design process and the depth and care that goes into each and every design.
- Initial Consultation: The design process begins with a free consultation at your property. During this visit, we walk the property and discuss how you want to use your space and what is important to you.
- Landscape Design Estimate: Following the initial consultation, a detailed landscape design estimate is created for you. This estimate outlines the project scope, goals, and price of the design.
- Site Measure and Analysis: Upon approval of the estimate, the next step is to measure the site and do a thorough analysis of existing conditions. With the information gathered, a base map is created which will be used to begin the design.
- Concept and Review: For concept and review, we meet to discuss the conceptual design created for your project. At this meeting, you will be presented with a drawing on trace paper. In the drawing, you will see how the functional spaces have been laid out and how the vision and requirements for your project are taking shape. Note, however, that plant names and material selections will not appear on this drawing. As we look at the drawing together, we will discuss in depth whether your needs for the project have been addressed and if we are on the same page when it comes to what you envisioned. As we talk, adjustments can be made to the design in real time.
- Final Design Presentation: At the final design presentation, your scaled, rendered, custom plan, including the plant palette, material suggestions, and phasing suggestions, is ready for you.

With the plan in hand, you are ready to move on to installation.
Installation/Contractor Collaboration
DRT Landscape Design installs small scale projects on a per project basis. For larger projects or specialty work, you will need to hire a contractor or multiple contractors. Communicating the vision to the contractors is vital to the success of the project. Good contractor communication and collaboration can help manage the cost of installation and will help make sure what is designed gets installed per the vision. When you have selected the contractors that you would like to work with, I can work to communicate with the contractors to see the design come to life.
