This full-sun hillside presented significant grade challenges, even after excavation and retaining work. The planting design focused on stabilizing the remaining steep slope while creating a cohesive and dynamic landscape. Plants were selected for deer-resistance and drought-tolerance. Plantings were installed with a tight spacing in order to achieve a more natural yet composed landscape that knit together quickly to reduce weeding maintenance.
